The NIBA Internship Program is underway!  The idea for this internship program was proposed and found strong support among NIBAs Advisory Group.  Qualified students will be matched with members looking for candidates trained in a broad array of critical sectors, including Finance, Statistics, Media, Marketing, and Law. To highlight one of our recent internship success stories, Muz Quadri, who completed his MS in Finance in June, combined an internship opportunity with Rice Dairy LLC while completing his final semester at DePaul.  Rice Dairy LLC expressed that “Muz was very well prepared for his internship and a delight to work with.  He utilized many of his well-developed academic skills by contributing to a number of comprehensive research and development projects, including co-authoring an article that was published in May.” The goal of our program is to foster meaningful development - for both the interns and the member. NIBA and DePaul are currently working together to ensure a successful match of prospective interns with NIBA members.  Please visit the NIBA Journal to view the current list of prospective interns.  The prospective intern list will also be available on the new Member Portal very soon. NIBA members interested in learning more about the program or specific information on a prospective intern are encouraged to contact NIBA. From the Classroom to the Trading Floor

There is no single, clearly defined education path for entering the derivatives industry as professionals come from a range of academic backgrounds. Still, higher education plays a crucial role in preparing students for success in this complex and fast-evolving field. A strong foundation in finance, economics, and mathematics is essential. At the undergraduate level, students should prioritize courses in financial markets and institutions, investment analysis, corporate finance, and introductory derivatives. Just as important are courses in statistics and calculus, which help build the analytical and quantitative skills required for understanding pricing models, volatility, and risk management strategies. With the increasing reliance on algorithmic trading and quantitative research, a concentration or minor in applied mathematics, data science, or computer programming can...

The Center promotes the development of the risk management field by bridging the...
