Ascent Capital Management Congratulates NIBA's 30th Anniversary

Ascent Capital Management has been an active member of the NIBA since we were established in 2011. The NIBA provides several tools to assist firms to maintain compliance with many of the regulatory changes that have become commonplace in our industry. Semi-annual meetings with various speakers on many diverse topics are just some ways that the NIBA helps keep its members up to speed and avoid regulatory issues. New products, changes to AML requirements and Cyber-Security have been some examples of past areas of education. Of course, attendees are encouraged to ask questions at the conclusion of the panel discussion to help their understanding of the topics at hand. Congratulations to the National Introducing Brokers Association

The National Introducing Brokers Association (NIBA) has provided support to the IB community for 30 years. I have been involved and a member of NIBA for 29 years. Melinda approached me to become a charter member upon inception, but I waited until the following year when I joined the team as a broad member. From the time of joining the NIBA it became a game changer for Allendale Inc. The ability to share ideas regarding the hurtles we were facing as an IB with other members was priceless. The NIBA has provided communication for the IBs with the regulatory bodies such as the CFTC and the NFA. It is extremely important to understand the rules and learn how to comply with them. Kansas City Trading Group Congratulates NIBA's 30th Anniversary

Kansas City Trading Group is an Independent Introducing Broker which began operations in August of 2010. Almost all personnel had come from the commodity interests business and had extensive experience in many facets of the industry. That being said, internal experience and knowledge has not been enough to keep up with the constant challenges our firm and others have faced in the past 10 years. Departures of FCM’s, consolidations of the customer base, increasing regulatory requirements, and not to mention a pandemic have increased the need for everyone to stay on top of changes and have resources that assist with that and advocate for us. vSEC provides cybersecurity consulting services, specializing in the derivatives industry. vSEC Founding Partners, John Falck and Michael have extensive backgrounds in the derivatives industry serving as executives and advisors for several key groups including OCA, CME, UBS, Federal Reserve, etc., Michael joined NIBA’s advisory group as an opportunity to continue to provide insights and leadership on cybersecurity matters for its members. Reflections on 10 Years as a NIBA Board Member

By – Barbara Schmidt-Bailey, CME Group Director of Client Development & Sales The first conference I attended a mere month into my tenure as a new CBOT, now CME Group, employee in the spring of 2001 was NIBA’s annual Chicago meeting. The event was a great representation of the Chicago futures industry, with IBs, FCMs and vendors in attendance and discussions circling around markets and outlook. It was clear to CME Group long before I joined that being a part of NIBA was an important way to support IBs and their customers on the ground around the country.
