The PRICE Futures Group trades and specializes in each of the domestic and global futures and options markets which include grains, softs, energies, metals, equities, currencies, and interest rates, among others.
How did you get started? How did the firm get started?
President & CEO, Walter Thomas Price, III, has been involved in the securities, cash commodities, and commodity futures markets for more than 40 years as both a trader for his own account and as a broker. In 1988, Mr. Price founded The PRICE Futures Group, Inc. as a full service futures and options brokerage company. Over the years, The PRICE Futures Group, along with our various associated firms, have expanded into a full service financial services business which now form Price Holdings, Inc., an employee-owned company.
Does the firm provide additional services besides brokerage?
As a division of Price Holdings, Inc., The PRICE Futures Group is in the unique position to provide our clients access to the FULL array of trading and investment products. The entities of Price Holdings combine to provide an array of both traditional and alternative investment and trading services. Our alternative investments associate, Price Asset Management, Inc., is registered with the NFA and CFTC as a Commodity Trading Advisor and Commodity Pool Operator. Clients also enjoy the value-added benefits of Uhlmann Price Securities, LLC, a full-service securities firm specializing in traditional and alternative investments solutions. Other associated firms include Fund Dynamics, Transparent Strategy Tracker, Alternative Investment Services, and Atrium Trading.
The PRICE Futures Group also works closely with CitiFX Pro, the Margin FX Trading division of Citibank, to provide our clients with the highest quality access to the FX markets.
In addition to providing the full array of retail products and services to our clients, we utilize our years of experience, niche expertise, size, and scale to custom structure solutions for global institutions, commercial operations, professional traders, and brokerage firms.
What are the biggest challenges your clients face today? What does the firm do to help meet those challenges?
Security of client funds is a big concern we face. Being an Independent IB gives us the opportunity to have multiple clearing agreements with reputable FCMs.
How has the futures and options industry evolved since you first started in business?
Futures markets are Global and execution has become more efficient with electronic trading. Managed Futures has grown to become a viable asset class.
What do you believe to be the keys to the firm’s success?

What trends are you most excited about?
The growing need for IIB’s that can facilitate the relationship with the FCM. The growing demand for alternative investment products such as Managed Futures.
What trends are you most worried about?
Increased concerns regarding safety of funds. The financial health of existing FCM’s.

As a nationally recognized organization representing the futures and options industry, the NIBA provides its members access to unique resources and benefits. It is also great to be associated with a firm that is responsible for creating and continuing to open the lines of communication across all participants in our industry.
